What is a Panigiri?
A panigiri is a traditional Greek festival, usually held in honour of a saint but can also include a religious event e.g. Ascension). Festivals also take place to commemorate events like harvest, local produce e.g. sardine or wine festivals as well as cultural song and dance festivals. They often include:

On Thomas Sunday, April 19, a traditional celebration takes place in the village of Krini, combining religious ceremony with local festivities. April 24 – Agios Markos.
A Traditional Panigiri with live music is held in Agios Marko’s Village just above Ipsos. With live music, dancing and typical panigiri food and drink. This is the first of the three panigiris that take place in the village, the next ones being at the end of August and the beginning of September

May 1 – Roda.
A great Traditional Festival takes place on Friday, May 1st at Roda Beach. With live music from the Faiakes orchestra. A traditional dance group from Crete will also be participating. Starts at 20:00

May 3 – Chorepiskopi.
In Chorepiskopi, a panigiri is held on the Sunday of the Paralytic (the fourth Sunday after Easter), commemorating Christ’s healing miracle. The celebration features live music by the band Feakes and runs from the late afternoon into the night.

May 3 – Alepou.
The traditional festival in Alepou takes place at the courtyard of the Odegetria Church dedicated to Panagia Odegetria. With live music by the Kids from Garouna and skolarikis.

Festival at the courtyard of the church of St Christophoros, patron saint of travellers, motorists, and drivers. Celebrations start at 18:00 with live music.

The traditional festival takes place at the courtyard of Kavo’s Primary School. Everybody is invited to an evening of live music, dancing and a festive atmosphere. Live music will be provided by the ZORBAS orchestra together with Spyros Pandis, while the evening will feature a number of local dance groups.

Taking place on May 20, one day after the procession of St. Nicholas the Elder, this traditional festival is held at the Scout Center in Faliraki, starting at 20:30.
The event brings back the spirit of old Corfu, recreating the atmosphere of past celebrations once held in the area. Panigiri takes place in the upper square at the courtyard of the St Nicholas Church. With live music by Spiros Konti’s Orchestra starting at 20:00.

A large traditional panigiri takes place in Koulines to celebrate Saints Konstantine and Helen, held in the courtyard near the village church.
The festivities unfold over two days, beginning on the eve of the saints’ feast day and continuing into the main celebration. May 21 – Ascension Day Panigiria (Multiple Locations)
The Feast of the Ascension (Analipsi) is celebrated 40 days after Easter and is marked across Corfu with traditional panigiria. In 2026, the date coincides with the Feast of Saints Konstantine and Eleni, making it a particularly festive day on the island.
Several celebrations take place on May 21, including events in Kanoni, Kato Korakiana, and Arillas, each offering a unique atmosphere and local character.
Kanoni (Analipsi).
The panigiri in Kanoni is held near the Church of the Ascension in Analipsi. Visitors should follow the road next to the entrance of Mon Repos rather than heading directly up to Kanoni.
Religious services take place both on the eve and the day of the feast, including the Great Solemn Vespers at 19:30 and the morning service at 07:45. The main celebration takes place in the evening in the open area outside the church, with a traditional panigiri atmosphere. Limited parking is available near the top, as well as along the roadside.

In Kato Korakiana, the traditional panigiri of the Ascension is held in the courtyard of the Church of the Ascension in Analipsi.

Another one of traditional Corfu Panigiria takes place in Arillas in the yard of the local association club, located about 1 km from the seaside.
Starting at around 20:00 and continuing late into the night, the event includes live music by Spiros Kontis Orchestra and performances by the Arillas Folklore Dancing Club. May 31 – Karoumpatika.
A two-day traditional panigiri is held in the village of Karoumpatika, starting on the eve of Holy Spirit Day, 31st of May. The event begins at 20:00 with live music by Spyros Kontis and the Corfiot Company, along with food and dancing. The second day of the event is held on the 1st of June.

A traditional panigiri takes place in Kastellanoi Gyrou on Pentecost Sunday. This small village is located in northwestern Corfu, around 23 km from Corfu Town. Please note that it should not be confused with Kastellanoi Mesis, which is located in central Corfu.

Potami Lefkimis
The festival at Potami of Lefkimmi in southern Corfu takes place every year on September 8, the feast day of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary (Panagia). It is a traditional local festival accompanied by church services, live music, dancing and local delicacies, gathering a large crowd.

September 26 – Karousades
The traditional festival in Karousades, Corfu takes place on September 26, the day of Saint John the Theologian at the Monastery. Vespers will be held at 19:00 and will be followed by the traditional feast of live music at 20:00
