The property and grounds of San Stefano Estate, a historic Venetian manor house near Benitses, were used extensively in Marble Hall Murders. In the series, the estate is Villa Belmar, the Corfu residence of Lady Margaret Chalfont and her family. The exterior of the house, parts of the interior, gardens and decking all feature in the drama.
The decking seen in the series was specially constructed over the estate’s existing infinity pool to help recreate the appearance of the property in the 1950s.

Built in 1782 by a member of the Venetian Giustiniani family, the estate has remained a private family property and is surrounded by gardens, olive groves and citrus trees overlooking the Ionian Sea.
The estate is not open to the public for visits, but the entire house can be rented for holidays or as a venue for weddings and other celebrations.

The Archontiko Petrettini Boutique Hotel, a historic mansion located on the village square in Agios Ioannis, was used as a Corfu filming location for Marble Hall Murders. For the series, the hotel was renamed Hotel Xenia and is the hotel where Atticus Pünd stays while in Corfu.
Scenes were filmed both inside and around the property, which retains much of its historic character and period-style furnishings. The terrace at the rear of the hotel was used as the dining area of Hotel Xenia, including the scene where Pünd meets Police Lieutenant Achilles Vassilikos.
The mansion dates from the period of the French occupation of Corfu and has had several uses over the years, including as a youth hostel and later as Hotel Merida, before being restored and reopened as the Archontiko Petrettini. The hotel is still operating today, so visitors can stay at the property and experience this filming location for themselves.

Corfu Old Town – Marble Hall Filming Locations

Several scenes in Marble Hall Murders were filmed in and around the historic Old Town of Corfu, making use of its atmospheric squares, churches, narrow streets and Venetian architecture. Many of these locations remain part of everyday Corfiot life today, allowing visitors to explore the places featured in the series for themselves.

One of the first locations seen in Marble Hall Murders is Kremasti Square, in the heart of Corfu Old Town. In the opening scenes, Atticus Pünd, the fictional 1950s detective, walks into the square and stops to buy some cherries. He then meets Lady Margaret Chalfont as she leaves the Church of the Virgin Mary Kremasti with her daughter, Judith Littleton.
At the centre of the picturesque square is its historic Venetian well, built in 1699. Today, the square is also home to the award-winning Venetian Well restaurant, which occupies the building directly overlooking the well. During the summer, tables are set out in the square, giving visitors the chance to sit in the very location where Atticus meets Lady Margaret in the series.

Faliraki, on the seafront of Corfu Old Town, features in the first episode of Marble Hall Murders. Elmer Waysmith, Lady Margaret Chalfont’s second husband, is seen sitting with his son Robert Waysmith at a café, discussing business.
The building seen in the series is now Faliraki Café Restaurant. The restaurant occupies the two sections of the building, with the small Church of St Nicholas ton Loutron standing between them. Tables and chairs are arranged in the square in front of the café, right beside the sea. In summer, the area is popular for swimming at Faliraki Beach.
The entrance to Faliraki is through the Gate of St Nicholas (Porta San Nicola), one of the surviving Venetian gateways of Corfu’s historic town fortifications. From the gate, it is just a short walk to the café, church and seafront.

The Mouragia district is located in Corfu Old Town, beyond the Museum of Asian Art and above Faliraki. Its seafront promenade, overlooking the Ionian Sea and the Old Fortress, features in several episodes of Marble Hall Murders.
Here, Atticus Pünd and Detective Achilles Vassilikos are seen discussing the case and trying to piece together the timeline of events. The promenade also offers views across Faliraki and the Ionian Sea, with the Old Fortress providing a dramatic backdrop.
Opposite the promenade is a distinctive neoclassical building used as the fictional Hotel Poseidon in the series. The hotel is allegedly where Elmer Waysmith changes his clothes before meeting his son, adding another intriguing detail to this filming location. The building is also situated next to the Mansion of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Governor of the modern Greek state.

Vlachu Square – Another Corfu Filming Location for Marble Hall Murders

Vlahou Square (Platia Vlachou) is a small, quiet square in Corfu Old Town, just a stone’s throw from the Spianada. Surrounded by historic buildings, the square has a few benches and is a pleasant place to sit and escape the bustle of the main town, while still being right in the heart of Corfu.
There are no cafés or shops around the square, just a peaceful corner of the Old Town. In Marble Hall Murders, tables and chairs were brought into the square for a scene in which Atticus Pünd has coffee with Lady Margaret Chalfont and her daughter, following their meeting at Kremasti Square.
Today, you won’t find the café seen in the series here — the tables were added specifically for filming.

Danilia Village

Danilia Village, formerly known as Bouas Village, is a reconstructed traditional Corfiot village that has become one of Corfu’s best-known film locations. Its traditional architecture, village square and surrounding landscape provide an authentic-looking setting that can represent Corfu both in the present day and in earlier historical periods.

For Marble Hall Murders, Danilia Village was transformed into the market in Kassiopi, where Atticus Pünd and Detective Achilles Vassilikos go to investigate whether aconitine was purchased from a shop there.

The set of Vathy Museum (Ithaka) was also created inside one of the village’s function-room buildings specifically for the production. The crew dismantled the set after filming, and it is no longer there.

Danilia’s controlled setting makes it particularly suitable for film and television productions, allowing period vehicles, costumes, props and set dressing to be used without modern buildings, traffic and other elements appearing in the background.

The village has also featured in several other major productions, including My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only and the television series The Durrells.

Danilia Village is owned by Grecotel and is open to visitors. There are two main ways to visit:

Campiello – Corfu Old Town

Campiello, one of the oldest and most picturesque neighbourhoods of Corfu Old Town, provided several filming locations for Marble Hall Murders. Its maze of narrow kantounia, small squares and historic Venetian buildings helped recreate the atmosphere of 1955 Corfu, with a number of outdoor scenes filmed throughout the neighbourhood.

Campiello is part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town of Corfu and is open to visitors. You can explore its atmospheric alleyways and small squares on foot while discovering one of the most historic parts of the city.
